Mitsu Lancer EVO X Launched!

August 29th, 2008

Aug 22, 2008 marked the entry of EVO X into Malaysian market. For all those who love a taste of high speed ride such as our national hero - Lee Chong Wei, one should take a look at the all brand new Mitsubishi Lancer EVO in its tenth edition or better known as EVO X.

Built on the same platform as the Lancer GT, EVO X has introduced some new features as Mitsubishi Motors is striving to penetrate deeper into the Malaysian car market as its On-The-Road price indeed would raise a few eyebrows when it is priced somewhere RM328,000.00. It may be very expensive if being compared to Kancils or Myvis, but to those who are familiar with turbo-charged cars, they will tell you the Lancer EVO X is a real bargain in the market.

Powered by a 4-cylinder, 16 valve DOHC 2 Litre MIVEC turbocharged engine that generates an impressive 295HP @ 6500rpm, it indeed deserves its recognition amongst the world’s best sport cars. Mitsubishi has also put much emphasis on safety of its driver when the EVO X came with an impressive RISE body while all passengers got extra protection with its 7 Airbags System.

The EVO X is also equipped with a splendid Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission that gives the luxury of a fully automatic transmission at one end, while offering a transmission that can match the standards demanded for competitive Manual racing at the other. It has 3 modes - Normal, Sports and Super Sport Mode. However the SSM is only recommended on closed circuit roads as it is not safe for practise on open roads.

Styling has never gone zero with this version of EVO X. The Super Dupa car came with a twin Original RECARO Full Bucket seat that offer an extremely safe conscious robust construction with side airbags. It also has one of the most stylish Leather Steering Wheel with most control on it. Plus, it has a Slide and Tilt Sunroof that allows you to reach out and feel the wind in your face!

Come in 3 colours - Red Metallic, White Solid and Plantom Black Pearl, customers would be pampered in this famous ‘Performance Oriented’ car. For more information, you can always reach us at webmaster@mitsupg.com to know where you can view this amazing sports machine.

Good Customer Service

August 20th, 2008

Yesterday mitsupg was at scene when one of our Triton customer sent in a S.O.S message because his Triton could only go into Reverse gear while all other gears malfunctioned. Team Mitsu Penang moved in quickly by contacting the relevant insurance company who in turn sent their tow-truck to the scene to send the distraught Triton to the nearby EON Service Center in Sungai Pinang, Georgetown.

It only took around 1 hour for the tow truck to respond to our call and indeed, has also proven that Uni.Asia insurance was able to keep their commitment in responding to S.O.S call from their customers. Kudos to Team Mitsu Penang and Uni.Asia Insurance for their prompt response and dedications.

Lancer 2.0 GT Price to go up?

August 20th, 2008

Lately we have received news that the price of Mitsu Lancer 2.0 GT will GO UP from the original RM115,980.00 to somewhere around RM123,000.00 due to some adjustment done by 3M in order to have a ‘fair playing ground’ in the car market effective this coming 1st September 2008.

It is also rumoured that the original price of RM115,980.00 is only an ‘introductory’ price during the launch of this model in August last year. There were some whispers that 3M was not very confident with this new model, therefore has asked Mitsu Corp in Japan to give them a ‘grace period’ with a lowered price in order to assist them to claw back some market share in the sedan car segment. That may explain why in the world we get one 2000 litre sport car fully equipped with spoiler, sport rims and sport paddle shift plus fully imported from Japan CBU at a discounted price.

Mitsu Lancer 2.0 GT Red

A check around showrooms up north here has found the sales of Lancer 2.0 GT is good as dealers were receiving new stocks almost every week and customers who heard about this ‘grapevine’ were rushing to register their car before 1st September for the fear of it coming true.

However to be honest, even if the price is adjusted to RM123,000.00, it won’t hurt the sales of this model as this price would only put it on par with the locally assembled Honda Civic 2.0. Though Honda Civic may be more popular, many Mitsu dealers are confident that this Lancer GT will give Civic a run for its money. The fact that the entire car was imported from Japan would have pushed this model above RM130,000.00 and therefore, still make it one of the most ‘affordable’ CBU Japan sedan car in Malaysia.
